Supporter of Peter Ellis says it's "tragic" he died before he could clear his name
A long-time supporter of convicted child sex offender, Peter Ellis, says it's "tragic" he died before he could clear his name

The 61-year-old passed yesterday after a battle with cancer.
He was found guilty in 1993 of abusing children at a Christchurch creche, but has always maintained his innocence.
Don Brash, who campaigned for an inquiry into the case, says he's sorry Ellis won't be alive for his appeal to the Supreme Court in November.
He says a lot of people believe he's not guilty of the crimes he was convicted of, but from a legal point of view, he's died still guilty of the crimes.
