29-year-old Ashley Winter and 25-year-old Kerry Te Amo are charged with kidnapping, torturing and murdering Dimetrius Pairama in July last year.
The 17-year-old's body was found in a steel drum at an abandoned south Auckland state home.
A police interview video with a 15-year-old witness who has been given immunity has been played to the court today.
In it, she says she saw the teen being hit - and behind closed doors she heard bones breaking.
She says she heard Pairama crying and pleading with her captors to stop.
