Valentine Holmes has reportedly given up on his dream of playing in the NFL

The former NRL player quit Cronulla last year to try his hand in the NFL, and was picked up by the New York Jets and played several trial matches but failed to make the 55-man roster.
He took on a job on the Jets' training squad, on a salary of less than $200,000 a year.
But Channel Nine Australia claims Holmes has already agreed in principle to join the North Queensland Cowboys on a contract worth around $1 million.
