The Serious Fraud Office has charged four people for manipulating processes over the new Franz Josef wastewater treatment plant.
The plant made headlines when it was revealed Council had hired a person with no waste management experience to design it, who was a cake decorator.
Mayor Bruce Smith only recognised the name of one of the accused - Vivek Goel - who left the executive team in 2017.
He says he won't be making any comment - because the case is before the Courts.
