News Corp reports the English forward - who had to give the game away because of a shoulder injury - will earn as much as $380,000 a season working in recruitment and helping sponsors.
Souths are understood to be waiting on a request to medically retire the 30-year-old, before signing off on a deal.
That could happen by the end of the week.
