The Road Transport Forum has announced two new Level-Three truck driver training programmes this year - aiming to upskill existing truckies and attract new drivers.
Chief Executive, Nick Leggett, says there are estimates of a four-thousand shortfall in available drivers... and they're hoping these training programmes turn that around.
He says truckies are essential for how we live, with trucks keeping supermarkets stacked and homes and offices full.
