More wild weather for the West Coast

More wild weather for the West Coast

State Highway 6 remains closed between Harihari and Whataroa this morning, with heavy rain inundating the region.

MetService says the downpours and severe norwest gales could stick around until later this evening.

It says with 280 millimetres accumulating in some parts, road conditions could be treacherous.

The road's expected to reopen around 7am, or after inspections have been completed.
