A funding boost for community projects in the Chatham Islands

Conservation Minister Eugenie Sage has announced over 111-thousand dollars is going into four projects dedicated to protecting threatened native birds and plants by restoring habitat and enhancing pest control efforts.
It includes helping the parea, or Chatham Island pigeon, and the Chatham Island tui.
The Chatham Islands are home to 20 per cent of New Zealand's threatened bird species and 11 per cent of New Zealand's threatened plant species.
