It's hoped the Government's investment in vocational education will lead to more school leavers taking up a trade

It's hoped the Government's investment in vocational education will lead to more school leavers taking up a trade

Newstalk ZB exclusively revealed this morning 343 schools will receive 3 thousand dollars each to run trades-based events.

Massey High School is one of those benefiting from the cash boost and principal Glen Denham says he's thrilled - but wants more.

He hopes the feedback will be so great, so that other colleges say 'we need more money to do more of this'.

Denham says the Government is future-proofing against a potential shortage of trades workers.
