    Weekend Sports Round Up

Novak Djokovic has triumphed at the Australian Tennis Open for an eighth time, recovering from two sets to one down to defeat Dominic Thiem in five sets

He's overcome illness and a mid-match meltdown with the chair umpire in the process.

Djokovic's 17th career slam leaves him three behind majors leader Roger Federer and propels the 32-year-old back to world No.1.

Four tournament wins in a row for the Black Ferns Sevens.

New Zealand's trounced Canada 33-7 in the final of the Sydney world series tournament, which extends their overall lead to 16 points.

The men have beaten Australia 24-7 to finish fifth, with Fiji winning the tournament.

France has held on for a 24-17 Six Nations rugby win over England in Paris.

They endured a wobbly last 25 minutes and an all-in dust-up, after initially going out to a 24-nil lead.

The New Zealand cricketers have suffered another defeat despite victory looming against India in their fifth Twenty20 international at Mt Maunganui.

The seven-run win, with the Black Caps failing to chase 164, secures the visitors a 5-nil series sweep.

Jasprit Bumrah returned figures of three for 12, while Ross Taylor and Tim Seifert made half centuries.

Jeet Raval's been the standout for Auckland in their Ford Trophy cricket win over Central Districts in New Plymouth.

Raval made 118, to help the visitors to 283 and a successful chase for a four-wicket win.

The victory secures Auckland a spot in the one-day play-offs and extends their lead to eight points atop the table.

Otago's match with Northern Districts in Dunedin was abandoned.

A bizarre turn has seen the Breakers win their Australian NBL basketball game 65-52 against the Illawarra Hawks.

The game was called off in the third quarter due to a leak in the Wollongong Entertainment Centre roof.

The visitors were handed victory, but that ruling will be reviewed today.

The Breakers sit fifth on the ladder, one and a half wins behind the fourth-placed Brisbane Bullets.

Shane van Gisbergen's been the pick of the Kiwis, finishing third in the Bathurst 12-hour race up Mount Panorama for Mercedes Triple Eight racing.

Bentley's three-man team took the chequered flag.

IndyCar driver Scott Dixon's finished 16th.

Burnley and Arsenal have played out a goalless draw in English Premier League football.

Golfer Graeme McDowell has won the European Tour's Saudi International by two strokes, finishing at 12-under par.

Ryan Fox was 10 shots back in a tie for 27th.
