Teachers will have their registrations cancelled for any serious misconduct

Teachers will have their registrations cancelled for any serious misconduct

Last year there was a spike of sex offending allegations against teachers.

President of Post Primary Teachers Association Jack Boyle says all principals are now obliged to report anything which might be unacceptable behaviour to the council.

He says misconduct is simply when the welfare of young people is at risk, and when a teacher breaches their professional standards and responsibilities.
