The Government's keeping details of a possible Ihumatao settlement under wraps

The Government's keeping details of a possible Ihumatao settlement under wraps

Earlier today, protest leader Pania Newton told Newstalk ZB the Government would be compensating Fletcher Building for giving up the land, through a specially set up trust.

She says Auckland Council and Kingitanga won't be putting in any money.

But a Government spokesperson says it's focus has always been on supporting a resolution that respects all parties, and it's continuing to work on finding that resolution.
