The Wellington Phoenix will reportedly remain in football's A-League for the foreseeable future, despite failing to reach key off-field metrics required by Football Federation Australia for a licence extension

The Wellington Phoenix will reportedly remain in football's A-League for the foreseeable future, despite failing to reach key off-field metrics required by Football Federation Australia for a licence extension

The club's licence is due to expire at the end of this season, but the Sydney Morning Herald reports FFA has already begun the process of a potential extension until 2034 following a request of the other A-League club owners.

The Phoenix faced an uncertain future when FFA announced in 2018 the club was well-off hitting its attendance, television audience and membership targets required for an automatic six-year licence renewal.
