A year on from a triple fatality at Matata, WorkSafe has laid charges against Higgins Construction

Three workers were killed last February when a truck veered off the road, shunting a vehicle that rolled onto the men working in a culvert.

The driver was charged with careless driving causing death.

Now, WorkSafe has completed its investigation and told the company it will prosecute them as well.

Higgins general manager Henare Clarke says he can't give details on a matter before the courts, but says the company's determined to learn from what happened.
