A permanent resident in their 60s is being treated fir the virus at Auckland City Hospital, after returning from Iran on Wednesday.
They twice tested negative, before a third test was confirmed positive yesterday afternoon.
Jacinda Ardern says the hospital was contacted by Healthline before the patient arrived
She says the person was then received by medical professionals already rolling out the protocols we have for an infectious disease such as this.
The Government announced yesterday it's expanding travel restrictions to immediately include travellers from Iran.
