SANZAAR Chairman Brent Impey believes they were left with no option but to suspend the competition following the travel restrictions imposed by the New Zealand government.
Impey says the plan going forward is yet to be discussed
The Highlanders will be in self-isolation when they return from Argentina this week.
Their game against the Jaguares due to start at midday has been cancelled, both teams will receive two competition points.
