There's one confirmed case of the virus in the South Island - a woman from Denmark - who landed at Christchurch Airport before driving to Queenstown.
The Coalgate Tavern is a 45 minute drive west of Christchurch.
A sign on their door this morning read STOP - due to the Coronavirus, overseas visitors are not welcome in the establishment.
But the owner says he's replaced them with Ministry of Health signs.
He admits the wording wasn't quite right - but says his business has been hit hard and staff have already been laid off.
