    Researchers are determining which areas of Wellington would fare worst in an earthquake



    It's funded by a 60-thousand dollar grant from the Earthquake Commissio.

    The aim is to establish a link between the thickness of sedimentary rock and severity of shaking.

    Victoria University Professor, Tim Stern, says the area between faults in in Wellington is formed like a basin meaning earthquake waves bounce off each other.
