New Vision Building and Construction Limited was sentenced in the Auckland District Court yesterday after a WorkSafe investigation.
The uncertified cage for workers building an agricultural shed in Kerikeri, in 2018, was attached to a tractor.
WorkSafe's Danielle Henry says staff couldn't identify whether the forklift holding the cage was securely attached to the tractor.
She says staff weren't trained to use height safety equipment, or supervised by a competent person.
The company's director and workers have have been ordered to do height safety training.
