The "devastated" wife of the police officer arrested and charged over George Floyd's Minneapolis death has publicly announced that she is leaving him immediately

The "devastated" wife of the police officer arrested and charged over George Floyd's Minneapolis death has publicly announced that she is leaving him immediately

In a statement through her Lawyer, Kellie Chauvin says is devastated by Mr. Floyd's death and her utmost sympathy lies with his family, with his loved ones and with everyone who is grieving this tragedy.

The personal news comes as it emerged police officer Chauvin was involved in three police shootings during his 19 years on the job, and has been the subject of multiple conduct complaints that resulted in no disciplinary action.

He's now charged with third-degree murder and manslaughter.

Video of Mr Floyd's arrest shows him being pinned to the ground by Chauvin, who knelt on his neck for more than 10 minutes while Mr Floyd was pleading for air, before he lost consciousness.
