A blueprint for a trans-Tasman bubble could be used to reopen our borders to the rest of the world

A blueprint for a trans-Tasman bubble could be used to reopen our borders to the rest of the world

The bubble blueprint's been presented to the Prime Ministers of New Zealand and Australia, and could be implemented within weeks if given the green light.

It was developed by the Trans-Tasman Safe Border Group, which is made up of a team of 40 experts.

Tourism Industry Aotearoa chief executive Chris Roberts is part of the group, and says the plan would be to replicate the bubble to other countries.

But he says discussions would only happen if countries have Covid-19 under control.
