North Canterbury farmers are going to be doing it tough in the coming weeks

The area has suffered a summer of severe drought, which has gone into the winter.
Feed cover in the district are only around 50 to 60 percent of normal levels.
North Canterbury Rural Support Trust chair, Gayle Litchfield says it's going to be hard.
She says a lot of people will have a contingency plan, but should it snow, that plan won't be enough -- and it will make things really tough for farmers and their stock.
