28 June 2020
MetService forecasters have issued a snow warning for Canterbury's Lewis Pass, Arthur's Pass and Porters Pass.
Porters Pass looks like it will bear the brunt of the snowfalls, receiving eight to 15 centimetres near the summit between two and 11 o'clock tomorrow morning..
Lesser amounts are likely to 500 metres and between three to six centimetres of snow is due on the summit of Arthur's Pass with a lighter coating on Lewis Pass.
More snow over the next few days is expected to disrupt driving over mountain passes.
