Thirteen people are due to be escorted down from a hut in the Coromandel Forest Park this morning after being stranded overnight, while slips are still blocking part of State Highway 25 north of Thames.
MetService forecaster Karl Loots says the heavy rain warnings have now been lifted.
He says the rain warning ended at 3am, and while there's no heavy rain around, some rain will continue to fall through the day.
