The Government has launched a ten-year plan to support the education and wellbeing of Pacific children
21 July 2020
The Action Plan for Pacific Education will assist Pacific communities, train teachers in cultural competence, and develop more educators from Pacific backgrounds.
The plan will be funded by $27.4 million from last year's Budget, and $80.2 million from the 2020 Budget.
Associate Health Minister Jenny Salesa says the plan was transformational, and will drive 'systemic change'.
She say Pacific learners currently experience inequitable outcomes in education and are more vulnerable to the impacts of a recession.
