Small business confidence has plunged as Covid-19 ha decimated activity

An ANZ survey reveals 48 per cent of small firms are pessimistic about the year ahead.
It's a far cry from the average over the past two decades... of only minus three per cent.
Economist Miles Workman says the June quarter captures the worst of the lockdown shock.
But he says monthly data shows there is a tentative bounce, so September might make for slightly better reading.
