Norwegian Alexander Kristoff's prevailed in a rain-hit opening stage of cycling's Tour de France

After a large group crashed inside the final three kilometres in the 156 k race around Nice, the UAE Team Emirates rider's edged several others in a sprint finish.

None of the three Kiwis, Sam Bewley, George Bennett and Jack Bauer had teammates inside the top 10.
