    They have no incumbent Black Caps, but Otago captain Hamish Rutherford feels his side is on the verge of something special in domestic cricket


    The side finished third in the Plunket Shield, third in the Super Smash and made the Ford Trophy 50-over final last summer.

    Rutherford, who is fresh out of a T20 stint with Worcestershire in England, says if they keep improving the silverware should come.



    The Plunket Shield starts next Monday.
