The All Whites' chances of reaching the next World Cup have taken a hit

The All Whites' chances of reaching the next World Cup have taken a hit

New Zealand Football has been forced to withdraw the side from its scheduled fixtures against Belgium and England due to travel restrictions and commercial flight availability under Covid.

Coach Danny Hay says it's a setback to their preparation for next year's World Cup qualifiers.

The All Whites' next scheduled games are Oceania World Cup qualifiers in March.

Meanwhile the Sydney Morning Herald reports the Socceroos could end up replacing New Zealand in the now-cancelled match against England, with Football Federation Australia at an advanced stage of discussions to lock in the blockbuster fixture.
