Retailers are beginning to shake off any concerns they had about this years consumer spend

The latest Retail NZ Sales Index shows sales in October were 20.7 percent higher than last year.
The total spending since March is also ahead of 2019 by 0.3 percent.
Chief Executive Greg Harford says surprisingly consumers have money in their pockets and are willing to spend.
He says this is due to an increase in house prices, and that people are spending local, as they are still unable to travel overseas.
