    Black Stick George Muir is backing Hockey New Zealand's decision to field only four teams for the inaugural Hockey Premier League


    The tournament, featuring just one South Island side, will have six round robin games before holding play-offs.

    Muir, who'll play for the Northland Tridents, says there's potential for future growth.



    The women's competition begins on November 12 and the men's a week later.
