An inquiry into a multimillion dollar settlement over Transmission Gully has been dropped
10 November 2020
Earlier this year, NZTA agreed to pay nearly 200 million dollars to the Wellington Gateway Partnership, over project delays.
Concerns over a conflict of interest were raised relating to NZTA chair Sir Brian Roche, who had formerly been a director for the Partnership.
NZTA reported Roche was kept out of Transmission Gully discussions for his first year as chairman, and his access was restricted to credential information.
Auditor-General John Ryan says they won't be looking further into the settlement, but will continue to monitor the project
