Auckland CBD businesses are desperately hoping foot traffic picks up this weekend

The city was quiet yesterday, with Aucklanders told to work from home instead of coming into the CBD as authorities investigated a community case.
Heart of the City chief executive Viv Beck says many people have cancelled the bookings they had in the city as a result.
She says it's been a blow for businesses which were just getting back on their feet after two lockdowns.
She says there's no change to alert levels -- so there are no strict precautions needed in the area.
She hopes business gets back to where it was before the case was confirmed.
