Bond famously swapped the oars for the pedals and went on to win a bronze medal in the time trial at the 2018 Commonwealth Games.
Germany's Jason Osborne has been selected in the lightweight double sculls for next year's Tokyo Olympic Games, but he was a surprise winner in the UCI E Sports World Cycling Champs on Zwift this morning.
Kiwi Ollie Jones finished fourth after a mechanical issue with his trainer in the final 200 metres, while Ella Harris was outside the top ten in the women's race.
