The freshly-minted Labour MP was catapulted into Cabinet this term - picking up the Seniors and Food Safety portfolios... as well as an Associate Health role.
Verrall rose to prominence as an epidemiologist in the early stages of the Covid-19 response.
She's still learning the ropes - and says the new gig isn't too different from working in medicine.
Verrall says on your standard medical ward round you'd meet 20 people and have to make five decisions about each of them.
