Wellington Phoenix midfielder Alex Rufer has been suspended for one match after being red-carded against Macarthur FC on Saturday
12 January 2021
Rufer fell and tripped Macarthur midfielder Denis Genreau during a collision which the video assistant referee deemed as "violent conduct".
The match review panel has downgraded Rufer's offence to "serious unsporting conduct".
The initial charge would have carried a minimum three-game ban.
The Phoenix won't be appealing the decision.
