    Online ticket scammers may be taking advantage of New Zealand's Covid-19 success


    About 30 complaints were lodged with WellingtonNZ last month, on claims of over priced or illegitimate tickets for Wellington events.

    The majority were from infamous reseller Viagogo, for the Van Gogh Alive experience - and Jersey Boys at the Opera House.

    WellingtonNZ's Warrick Dent says with events at a standstill overseas - the risk of being scammed here is higher.

    He said it's likely ticket scammers are targeting New Zealand and Australian events and we just need to be aware of that.
