The 22-year-old was remanded without plea in Auckland District Court today - her name suppression will be argued in early April.
Police allege she threatened a firearms and explosives attack on Otago University graduation ceremonies in December last year.
Charges laid claim the threat "surpassed the magnitude" of the Christchurch mosque shootings.
It forced the university to postpone eight graduation ceremonies - dashing the plans of more than two and a half thousand students.
