The Minister for Children expects Oranga Tamariki to pay attention -- to a damning coroner's inquest

Five-year-old Leon Jayet Cole died at the hands of his violent, drug-addicted stepfather in 2015.
A scathing coroner's report found social workers were quick to believe the self-serving excuses of Leon's mother and stepfather -- and failed to assess the situation critically.
Minister Kelvin Davis says Oranga Tamariki accepts the findings -- and he expects it to carefully consider its lessons.
Davis says his thoughts and sympathies are with Leon's family, for their devastating loss and ongoing grief.
