    F1 driver Fernando Alonso discharged from hospital following fractured jaw

    Formula One driver Fernando Alonso has been discharged from hospital after he suffered a fractured jaw in a road cycling accident


    Far from getting thrown from a bike hurtling down a daredevil mountain pass, he had surgery after a collision with a car at a supermarket last week in Switzerland.

    However, he's expected to be fit for the opening race of his Formula One comeback in Bahrain next month.
