Fletcher Building exceeds its own forecast with operating profit up 47 percent
Fletcher Building has exceeded its own forecast -- with operating profit up 47 percent in the six months to December
17 February 2021
New Zealand's biggest building construction and materials manufacturing business had forecast making between 305 million and 320 million dollars.
It ended up making 323 million dollars -- up from 219 million in the same period in 2019.
Fletcher Building chief executive Ross Taylor says demand has been growing in New Zealand's residential building sector.
But he says that's been partly offset by softer demand for commercial building -- and mixed conditions for the infrastructure sector in both New Zealand and Australia.
