Maritime New Zealand expects to meet today with the skipper of a yacht at the centre of a search and rescue mission

The yacht, called Tribe, broadcast a Mayday call on Wednesday evening - prompting a search first near Auckland's Waiheke Island, and then off Coromandel Peninsula.
It was found yesterday afternoon in Northland's Bream Bay - about 150 kilometres north of where it made its Mayday call.
Rescue Coordination Centre's Chris Henshaw says if a Mayday call is made, and then the situation changes for the better - the Mayday must be cancelled.
He says if you activate a beacon and are no longer in danger - make sure you leave the beacon on until you're contacted by rescuers.
