Another tough day in and out of the saddle for New Zealand road cycling champion George Bennett

Another tough day in and out of the saddle for New Zealand road cycling champion George Bennett

He's finished in the peloton after stage two of the Paris-Nice Classic, but not before hitting the tarmac just over 30 kilometres from the finish.

The moment came as the bunch squeezed into a single-lane street lined with bollards.

Bennett was skittled with a number of other riders and needed to replace his helmet.

Fellow Kiwi domestique Patrick Bevin finished just over a minute behind the peloton.

Team DSM's Cees Bol won the stage with Team Bike Exchange's Michael Matthews taking the overall lead.
