Claims a Covid breath test ... could replace nasal swabs

A University of Canterbury study's developed a five-minute Covid test -- that picks up coronavirus particles in breath or saliva samples.
Associate Professor, Dr Deb Crittenden says it's as accurate as the gold-standard lab tests.
She says all it involves is breathing out, as you would in the mirror in the morning, or spit on something -- and the test detects whether the sample has a protein antigen that spikes when someone has the virus.
She says there's no funding now to make it available for widespread use -- but she'd love to hear from other scientists and research engineers in the sector.
