    An economist believes opening borders is how we will improve our GDP


    Stats NZ has reported a 2.9 percent fall in gross domestic product over the past year, and a one percent decline in 2020's final quarter.

    ASB chief economist Nick Tuffley says this year's likely to be a quiet one.

    He says economic growth will pick up appreciably, once tourists start coming again.
