The possibility of future legal action by the Pike River families now rests on police efforts

The possibility of future legal action by the Pike River families now rests on police efforts

The group representing some of the families of the 29 men killed in the West Coast mine, says it accepts it's too difficult and expensive to continue with the drift recovery project.

Widow Anna Osborne says the focus is now on the police investigation -- and what it might uncover.

She says police have talked about up to six new boreholes to further their investigation, and it's hoped that'll unearth new evidence.
