There are concerns about young New Zealanders falling out of work, without a financial safety net

Infometrics data revealed to Newstalk ZB shows about 20-thousand fewer under-30s are in paid jobs, compared to a year ago.
Greens Social Development and Employment spokesmn Ricardo Menendez March says we need to lift benefits and explore a mass job creation programme - like a Ministry of Works.
He says many young workers have nothing to fall back on.
Menendez March says industries most affected by the Covid pandemic have been the ones young people work in - such as hospitality and tourism.
