Life expectancy keeps going up - but at a slower rate

Stats NZ data on death rates between 2017-and-2019, shows men live to 80, on average, and women make it to 83 and a half.
That's a half-year increase for men - and point three of a year for women, since the 2012-to-2014 period.
Population estimates and projections manager Hamish Slack says life expectancy rose most in the late 1980s to early 2000s.
