Sir Tom Jones couldn't start farting on 'The Voice UK' after eating a vegetarian meal

The legendary singer revealed that he suffered from a bad bout of flatulence after Anne-Marie, a fellow judge on the show, gave him a plate of roasted butternut squash prior to a live show

Speaking on Alan Carr's Life's a Beach podcast, Tom recalled: "Anne-Marie cooked some butternut squash and I said, 'Oh you cooked that yourself, I wouldn't mind having some of that.' So she sent a plate round to the dressing room.

"And when we were just about to go live on Saturday night I said to her, You've sabotaged me!'

"She said: 'What are you talking about?' And I said: 'All I've done since I ate that is fart.'"

Alan quipped: "Oh my God ... you might have farted so violently that your chair turned round by itself!"

The comic also revealed that his partner Paul Drayton heard the 'It's Not Unusual' hitmaker let rip while using the toilet at the BRIT Awards.

Alan said: "My other half had a wee next to you at the BRITs ... he said you farted and he went, 'Oh, now I've heard it out of both ends.'

"We all get wind... even legends."

Tom also joked to Alan that he is hoping to go back on tour again this summer "with a fair wind".

The 80-year-old star said: "My booking agent says with a fair wind it could be July.

"I don't know what that means exactly, but I get a lot of that!"
