Canoe Racing New Zealand boss Tom Ashley has saluted the tenacity of the men's K2 1000 pair named for the Tokyo Olympics

Canoe Racing New Zealand boss Tom Ashley has saluted the tenacity of the men's K2 1000 pair named for the Tokyo Olympics

Max Brown and Kurtis Imrie will be New Zealand's first representatives in the class since Darryl Fitzgerald and Steven Ferguson placed seventh at the 2012 London Games.

Ashley says the pair had to win the trials on two occasions to secure their spots.
